Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the region, producing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Residents witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.

Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for building damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.
